The Chet Atkins: Certified Guitar Player exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will honor
the contributions of one of Nashville’s most important music makers. The exhibit opens in the Museum’s
East Gallery on August 11, and runs through June 2012.

“Chet Atkins was country music’s ultimate Renaissance man, one of the greatest instrumentalists in
American music history and a true musical savant,” Museum director Kyle Young said in a statement.

Indeed, Atkins was a producer, a record executive, a performer, a recording artist, an occasional
sideman and a deft, even groundbreaking, guitarist. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame
in 1973, and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, a year after his death.
