PATSY CLINE
Patsy Cline était une des figures de proue du «Nashville Sound», ce style de musique country débarrassée de son aspect campagnard et tendant vers le jazz. Une country qui, tout en restant traditionnelle, serait plus propre, plus citadine, en résumé une «Country Bourgeoise». Les interprètes de ce syle de musique devaient rivaliser avec les «Jazzy Crooners » de l'époque qu’étaient les Frank Sinatra, Franky Laine, Dean Martin, ainsi dans la foulée sont apparus les «Country Crooners» qui passaient en boucle sur les radios. Un peu langoureuse, cette musique relaxante a été surnommée de «musique d' ascenseurs», ce qui n'est pas forcément très flatteur. Il est vrai que les ballades du Nashville Sound, aux accents jazzy, qui relatent des histoires de coeurs brisés, d’hommes résignés et solitaires, invitent tant à la réflexion qu'à l'abandon, surtout lorsqu'elles sont magistralement interprétées par des voix de rêve telles que celles de : Tammy Wynette, Ray Price ou Patsy Cline.
Dotée d'une voix hors du commun, puissante et jolie, la voix d'un crooner, Patsy aurait aussi pu aussi chanter le Country Rock. Elle était une véritable styliste de l'art vocal et incarnait plus qu'elle interprétait les chansons des autres. Née Virginie Patterson Hensley, le 08 septembre 1932, à Winchester en Virginie, Patsy a commencé à jouer du piano dès son adolescence, et à chanter les refrains populaires de la country.
A 16 ans elle obtient sa première audition. A vingt et un ans, en 1953 elle se marie à Gérald Cline, et adopte son nom de scéne «Patsy Cline». Peu de temps après, Patsy a signé un contrat d'enregistrement avec un petit label, les disques «Four Star Records». Avec Four Star, elle enregistre une succession de singles, si elle rencontre un certain succès, celui-ci reste néanmoins très local, malgré un talent reconnu de tous.
En 1957, Patsy divorce de Gérald Cline et se remarie avec Charlie Dick, avec qui elle aura deux enfants : Julie (1958) et Randy (1961). La même année, Patsy a gagné un concours avec une interprétation impressionnante de «Walkin' After Midnight» Elle enregistre son premier succès et se classe n°. 3 au country charts. En tournée à Nashville - Tennessee, elle retient l'attention du producteur Owen Bradley des disques de Decca en 1959. A noter que Patsy Cline est le premièr artiste «Female» à s'être produit sur la scène du Grand Ole Opry et à inscrire son nom au Country Music Hall of Fame.Patsy devient ensuite membre permanent du Grand Ole Opry en 1960, une référence aux E.U.
L'année suivante, Patsy Cline a enregistré «I Fall to Pieces», suivi de la composition de Willie Nelson «Crazy» (1961) et «She's Got You» (1962), toute la profession salue son talent.
Le 5 mars 1963, la brillante carrière Cline est tragiquement interrompue puisqu'elle s'est tuée dans un accident d'avion en quittant Kansas City pour Nashville. Patsy n'avait alors que 30 ans. Elle a ouvert des portes au futurs artistes féminins de la Country, et plus particlièrement à Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, et Loretta Lynn, qui ont été influencées par le style et le talent de Patsy.
Parmi les nombreux honneurs posthumes que Patsy Cline a reçu un Grammy Hall of Fame Award en 1973. Patsy Cline doit impérativement figurer dans la discothèque de ceux qui aime la Country Music.

Le 14 juin 1961, Patsy Cline et son frère ont un accident de voiture qui la propulse à travers le pare-brise, la tuant presque. Après un mois passé à l'hôpital, son front gardera les cicatrices de l'accident.

Chanteuse US née Virginia Patterson Hensley, le 8 septembre 1932 à Winchester (Virginie). Patsy Cline, adolescente, chante dans les clubs locaux et monte à Nashville (Tennessee), sans succès. En 1956, Patsy signe avec Decca Records et s'impose d'emblée. Elle enregistra aussi pour Coral et Everest Records. Devenue une idole à partir de 1961, elle trouva la mort dans un accident d'avion à Camden (Tennessee), le 5 mars 1963 à Camden (Tennessee), avec Cowboy Copas et Hawkshaw Hawkins. Toujours très populaire, malgré sa disparition prématurée, Patsy Cline, fut élue au Country Music Hall Of Fame en 1973.

Chanteuse US née Virginia Patterson Hensley, le 8 septembre 1932 à Winchester (Virginie). Patsy Cline, adolescente, chante dans les clubs locaux et monte à Nashville (Tennessee), sans succès. En 1956, Patsy signe avec Decca Records et s'impose d'emblée. Elle enregistra aussi pour Coral et Everest Records. Devenue une idole à partir de 1961, elle trouva la mort dans un accident d'avion à Camden (Tennessee), le 5 mars 1963 à Camden (Tennessee), avec Cowboy Copas et Hawkshaw Hawkins.
