Trail Dance Film Festival DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - January 8, 2009) - "Rockabilly Baby," a film produced by Timber Creek productions, received nominations for Best Drama and Best Actor (Denton Blane Everett) in the Trail Dance Film Festival, which was recently named Top 25 Film Festivals in Movie Maker Magazine. The third annual Trail Dance Film Festival in Duncan, Okla., opens Jan. 16, 2009 with "Rockabilly Baby" playing at 10 p.m. (Simmons Center Theatre, 800 Chisholm Trail Pkwy).
"Rockabilly Baby," the first production of Timber Creek Productions, is based on the stage play by Emmy winner, Leslie Jordan. Written and directed by veteran actor Ken Farmer, "Rockabilly Baby" delivers a fictitious look at the birth of rock 'n' roll in the 1950s. Farmer may be best remembered in the Southwest as the spokesman for Wolf Brand Chili. Buck Stienke served as Executive Producer. Veteran director of photography, producer, and Oklahoma native, Jim Roberson, shot "Rockabilly Baby" in HD using the three-camera system filmed in Gainesville, Texas.
The film stars Denton Blane Everett as Baby Boy Watkins, Todd Farr as Dirty Dawkins and Brandi Price as Jollene Watkins. Everett, born in Oklahoma City, received his bachelor's degree from East Central University in Ada.
Synopsis
Baby Boy Watkins, a piano-playing combination of Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and Elvis, finally gets his big break and is invited to play the Nashville Jubilee. His manager, Dirty Dawkins, has set up his visit to the Nashville Jubilee followed immediately by a sold out performance at the World's Fair in New Orleans. However, Baby Boy's sister, Jollene, shows up backstage at the Nashville Jubilee imploring Baby Boy to stop singing for people he doesn't know and return home with her to help with their ailing mother. "Rockabilly Baby" is a roller coaster ride of emotions, chock full of all original rockabilly music. It was the birth of what we call today, rock 'n' roll, set to the tune of a heart-wrenching story. It was the Rockabilly Era. When it was over, nothing was ever quite the same.
Walking the Red Carpet along with the cast and crew of "Rockabilly Baby," will be Timber Creek Productions' next star, Faith (http://faiththedog.net). As seen on Oprah and in more than 50 other news shows around the world, Faith, the two-legged dog is an inspiration in and of herself.
