Brown
Around mid-1953, Billy Brown was a member of the Special Services Division of the U.S. Army and spent much of his time entertaining troops at Camp Rucker, Alabama and nearby towns. At the same time, he was doing a weekly Saturday morning show over radio station WIRB out of Enterprise, Alabama, a town just west of Dothan and a bit southeast of Montgomery. The article we found mentioned he was 23 years old in 1953, making his birth date about 1930. They said he had started singing and learning musical instruments when he was just eight years old.
