From the West Side of Chicago, The El Dorados consisted of Pirkle Lee Moses (lead), Louis Bradley (tenor), Jewel Jones (second tenor-baritone), Arthur Bassett (tenor), and Richard Nickens (baritone-bass). Al Smith's band here on this side consisted of Lefty Bates (electric guitar), Norman Simmons (piano), probably Quinn Wilson (bass), and Vernel Fournier (drums).

I Began to Realize written by John Moore & Ewart Abner performed by The El Dorados with Al Smith's Orchestra recorded 24 April 1955 released in November 1955 as Vee-Jay 165
Pirkle Lee Moses leads the group on this one backed by Al Smith's big three-piece orchestra consisting of Norman Simmons (celeste), Quinn Wilson (bass), and Vernel Fournier (drums).
