Wanda Nominated
Rockabilly pioneer Wanda Jackson is one of nine nominees announced Monday (Sept. 22) for potential induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
This year's other nominees are Jeff Beck, Chic, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Metallica, Run-D.M.C., the Stooges, War and Bobby Womack.
The final five inductees for 2009 will be announced in January.
The 24th annual induction ceremony will take place April 4 in Cleveland. Beginning with her 1958 hit, "Fujiyama Mama,"
Jackson scored a series of rockabilly and country hits, including "Let's Have a Party," "Right or Wrong" and "In the Middle of a Heartache.
