Georgia Music Hall of Fame 1982, National Academy of Popular Music Songwriters Hall of Fame 1986, Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame 1985 Country Music Hall of Fame 1991, and Nashville Arts Foundation Living Legend Award 1991.
