ATTENTION HANK/COUNTRY MUSIC FANS

"HANK WILLIAMS TOURS"
- I thought I would give you all some preliminary, advanced information on this subject. Mr. Robert McLaughlin of Nashville is putting together a package tour that will include many Alabama Hank locations, and I expect to have more information within a few months. It looks like a great project and gives the fans a chance to see the major sites with accommodations and meals included - and the cost appears minimal for the fans - which is expected to start at less than $200.00. Work is in progress on www.hankwilliamstours.com to include more information on this subject. Additionally, a brochure is attached as an Adobe Acrobat file.

JAY TAYLOR'S "COUNTRY MUSICAL TRAILS LESS TRAVELED" NEWSLETTER - I guess there are a few of you that haven't subscribed to Jay Taylor's "Country Musical Trails Less Traveled" publication. You are missing a great edition in that the November/December 2007 issue is out now. It starts with an article titled "A Vanishing Breed" and it is about Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Ray Price. The last article is also interesting - it is titled "Grand Ole Opry's" Original Miss Martha White. In between there is also some great info on Gene Autry and a lot of pictures. Anyway, there is a lot of information you aren't likely to find anywhere else. To subscribe send a check or money order to "P. Jay Taylor, PO Box 143, Marshville, NC 28103-0143" (the cost is $14.00 per year in the USA, $15.00 in US funds for Canada, and $18.00 in US funds elsewhere (the newsletter is published bi-monthly and there is a single copy price of $4.00 also available). Jay also indicates "Editorial submissions from readers are strongly encouraged" and I see that Jay intends to have something about Porter Wagoner in the next issue. E-mail Jay Taylor at CMTLT@aol.com if you have any questions.

SLIM FORSYTHE AND HIS PARKLANE DRIFTERS - Here is the latest on Slim and his group (for you fans of Slim or those of you that should be)...
Saturday, December 29th, 2007, we're back on KDKA Radio (for our fifth time) from 11:00 PM to Midnight for a one-hour live concert on the Carol Lee Espy Show, "Life Lounge." We love playin' this show and Carol is the consummate host. We've become "regulars" and the response from listeners is always great. Folks in the eastern part of the USA can try tuning into 1020AM and folks all over the World can catch it by loggin' onto www.kdkaradio.com
And I'm really jazzed about this one, Robert. We're playin' the City of Pittsburgh's New Year's Eve Party. That's right. We're the only band on the bill. We're playin' three sets, includin' on stage for the Midnight Countdown, at the fabulous Cabaret Theatre right in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh's Cultural District between 6th and 7th Streets and Penn Avenue. This is the same venue where "Always, Patsy Cline" recently played to sold out audiences. It's a spacious dance and dining hall in the Old Time Supper Club style. We'll start at 10:30 PM. They're sellin' a Party Package that includes noisemakers, a Midnight champagne toast, a delicious dessert and coffee bar, and advance/preferred admission...all for only $25 bucks. [But note: If you come just for the show, admission if FREE!]. Folks can get tickets and lots more info by callin' 412 456-6666 or loggin' onto www.pghart.org And that's Monday night, December 31st, New Year's Eve.
Thanks so much for spreadin' the word!

ROBBIE LIMON DOING HANK -
Hank Williams Sr. is coming to a Theater near you.
December 29 (New Years Eve Weekend) will be the 55th Anniversary of Hank Sr's death. Come on out to the Second Annual Commemoration at The Strasburg Theater in Strasburg to hear 20 of Williams' most familiar songs as performed by Robbie and the on-stage, country string band. 'Lovesick Blues - The Life and Music of Hank Williams, Sr.' is Robbie's award-winning portrayal of Country Music's first successful singer-songwriter. Contact The Strasburg Theater at 540-465-1777 for ticket reservations or visit them on the Web at www.strasburgtheater.com to purchase your tickets. There will be one show only at 7PM. Theater tickets are great for holiday gift giving and this show is a welcome alternative to other New Years Eve events. Last year, 600 persons came out to see this show at The Strasburg ! Check out Robbie's web site at http://www.robbielimonband.com/ for more information.
