Last news about death of Chadd Thomas 17 July 2011Austin rockabilly bandleader Chadd Thomas (real name Charles Thomas II) of Chadd Thomas and the
Crazy Kings was found dead Monday morning, 11 of July, on South Congress Avenue near Oltorf.
The Austin American-Statesman and KVUE are both reporting at first that the Travis County Medical
Examiner has ruled Thomas' death a homicide from blunt force trauma.
Although homicide detectives are involved, Austin police said when they found Thomas' body that
determining a cause of death was premature: "Right now, all we have is a deceased person," APD Sgt.
Keith Bazzle told KVUE.
As for the last news, Austin police say a local rockabilly musician found dead was involved in three
unrelated altercations in the days leading up to this death. Police say Charles Thomas was first hit by a
vehicle on Sunday along South Lamar, and he was involved in a second altercation at a party on East
Alpine Road. Thomas was then driven to South Congress where he was possibly assaulted. Thomas was
found dead from blunt force trauma lying near a sidewalk along South Congress Monday morning.
