Hank had started the song, writing some lyrics on the back of a tablet cover (I guess he had ran out of paper). He only had enough for a verse and chorus and no music. He had not put anything on tape. When Audrey found the lyrics, she gave them to me when I was home from the Army on leave in 1958. She knew how much I loved Hank and always did some of his songs on my personal appearances. She told me she thought I would do a better job of completing the song than anyone else she could think of. I took the lyrics and put them in my guitar case. I finally had to do a little surgery on Hank's lyrics to make them fit my Hank Williams melody. Then I wrote another verse and chorus.
A couple of years ago, I finally told Sony/ATV, who now owns Acuff-Rose, about the song and gave them a demo of the song. They were very happy to discover they had a new Hank Williams song. I released it in a compilation CD with Paul Davis in England, who has the Christian Music Association in Europe.
