Nearly 65 years after he stood on the Ryman Auditorium stage and helped create what is now known as bluegrass music, Earl Scruggs will return to the Ryman for a July 22 concert as part of the Springer Mountain Farms Bluegrass Nights at the Ryman series.

The weekly series begins June 24 with a bluegrass-oriented Vince Gill show, and continues with concerts from Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, The Grascals with JD Crowe & The New South, Dailey & Vincent with The Quebe Sisters Band, Earl Scruggs and The Del McCoury Band with Steep Canyon Rangers.

In 1945, Scruggs brought his revolutionary banjo-picking style to
Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys Band, and his addition solidified the
now-classic bluegrass sound.

"Mr. Scruggs is the only remaining member of the ensemble referred
to as the original bluegrass band, and his appearance at the Ryman,
where he helped birth a new style of music, is testament to his
continuing influence and creativity," said International Bluegrass Music Association executive director Dan Hays.

Ticket prices start at $26 per show, and tickets are available through www.ryman.com.

C'est loin de chez vous ?

Le show est a Nashville dans la salle originale du Grand Ole Opry, en centre ville.. 8 bonnes heures de route, mais vu la date, on devrait en Caroline du Nord, puis en Virginie .. c'est a peu pres au neme niveau que Nashville, mais 6H a l'est..

Si on reussi a glisser ce petit voyage.. partir de Caroline du Nord aller a Nashville, retourner en Virginie.. ca nous fait un tour a l'ouest pour revenir a l'est.. puis retourner dans le nord.. a suivre.. Mais pas impossible..

Ben non!.. On n'a meme pas le GPS dans la voiture! mais les cartes routieres avec nous!!
A partir du moment ou la voiture roule, c'est juste une histoire de miles!
