Billy Gray was a leader at one time of Hank Thompson's Brazos Valley Boys, from about 1951 to at least 1955. He was also a recording star in his own right. He played guitar and did quite a bit of songwriting, too.
Some of the tunes he wrote that were recorded by Hank Thompson included, "HOw Cold-Hearted Can You Get", "Don't Make Me Cry Again", and "Yesterday's Girl".
He also ran two music publishing firms as well as managing the Brazos Valley Boys.
